Overview
WakeSharp is a mobile alarm clock for heavy sleepers, developed by KineticBit Inc. Instead of a snooze swipe, each alarm demands a completed mission — arithmetic, a puzzle, a photo match, real steps, or a spoken answer — before the morning counts. It ships as two native builds: SwiftUI for iOS 26+ and Kotlin/Compose for Android 8.0+, each with a watchOS or Wear OS companion.
Key Features
- Mission-Based Dismissal — Fifteen tasks span four families: Brain (Mind Games arithmetic, Memory Match, Sequence Recall, Colour Clash, Type It Out), Camera (Photo Proof, Scan an Object, Fetch, Face Check, Fruit Slash), Movement (Walk It Off, First Light), and Voice (Serial Sevens, Name Five). Missions can chain in a defined order, with Surprise Me randomising daily.
- System-Level Ringing — On iOS, Apple's AlarmKit presents a system alarm over the lock screen through Silent mode and Focus once access is granted. Android fires an exact alarm on the alarm stream with Extra Loud and a volume ramp, breaking through Do Not Disturb when alarms are permitted.
- Pre-Bed Reliability Verdict — Alarm reliability audits permissions, alarm volume, notification settings, lock-screen takeover, and battery restrictions, returning "will ring / may not / cannot" and marking unknowns rather than assuming a pass.
- Smart Calendar Alarms — On-device, read-only calendar parsing moves wake times when the first meeting moves; shift rotations, profiles, and a Today view handle irregular schedules.
- Warm-Up Games and Sharpness Score — Three rotating mini-games each morning produce a 0–100 score benchmarked against the user's own baseline, tracked with streaks and freeze tokens.
- Privacy and Portability — No account required, no sleep tracking, on-device camera and calendar processing, and link-based "wake with a friend" sharing that builds alarms locally on the receiving device.
Use Cases
Shift workers rotating between day and night patterns benefit from rotation rules and profiles that swap alarm sets without deleting entries. Commuters with variable first meetings get calendar-driven alarms that re-check overnight and shift automatically. Chronic snoozers can enforce real friction through camera or movement missions that require leaving the bed. Couples can distribute identical configurations via share links, and phone upgrades restore alarms, streaks, and scores through optional Apple or Google backup. The absence of sleep tracking keeps the tool scoped to waking performance rather than overnight monitoring.
