Overview
Vibes'n'Feels is a location-based mobile app that converts everyday moments into map-anchored emotional records called Vibes. Each Vibe pairs a fresh camera capture, a nearby map pin, an emoji drawn from one of six emotional spectra, and an optional note. Visibility is selected at creation time. The product targets adults aged 18 and older who want a lightweight, non-competitive way to record a moment and optionally share where it happened. It is currently in private testing, with store listings not yet active.
Key Features
- Fresh-capture requirement: A Vibe can only originate from a new camera photo or a video up to 20 seconds long. Gallery imports are rejected outright, keeping every entry bound to the present moment and place.
- Six emotional spectra with emoji refinement: Entries begin in Joy, Love, Anger, Sadness, Discomfort, or Surprise, then narrow to a specific emoji from a refinement palette.
- Precise pin placement: A pin is attached to the detected nearby location and can be dragged within roughly 250 m. Post-capture checks flag significant movement and force a re-capture.
- Three-tier audience control: Personal Vibes stay on the device, Friends Vibes stay visible for three days to current mutual friends, and Everyone Vibes appear on the community map for 24 hours after safety screening.
- Map and Feed discovery: Visible Vibes surface on a map or in a scrollable feed with distance, response counts, and expiry timing, and without follower counts or public profile histories.
- Feels rather than likes: A Feel is a lightweight response whose tally is public while supporter identities remain private, and totals never influence discovery or ranking.
- Discuss threads: Conversations attach to one live Shared Vibe and close automatically when that Vibe expires.
- Sync and restore: A confirmed account unlocks friends, avatars, Discuss posting, and syncing of up to 1 GB of the newest eligible Vibes.
- Processed media pipeline: Camera originals never leave the device; sharing and sync use a compressed JPEG or an MP4 with a JPEG poster, and shared video may be sampled for frames and speech.
- Mutual, username-based friends: Friendship is private and mutual, added by exact username, with no people search or public friend list.
Use Cases
- Personal documentation: Someone who notices a striking detail on a commute can log it privately with an exact pin and return to it later by place, time, and feeling.
- Small-circle sharing: A tight group of mutual friends can trade location-tagged moments for three days without building an audience or accumulating followers.
- Local discovery: Residents and travelers can browse 24-hour public Vibes to see how a specific street, park, or neighborhood currently feels.
- Moment-bound conversation: People who want to comment on a single shared scene can use Discuss, which disappears with the Vibe instead of persisting as a permanent thread.
