Overview
Macy is a proactive personal AI that operates entirely within Apple's iMessage. Instead of requiring a dedicated app, Macy exists as a contact you text, capable of monitoring your connected applications and initiating conversations when something needs attention. It integrates with Gmail, Calendar, Drive, Slack, WhatsApp, Robinhood, and over 500 other services through a web dashboard, then channels all relevant information into a single iMessage thread.
The product is currently in early access and free to use, with a planned monthly subscription of $19 after launch. Macy is built for individuals who want an automated assistant that watches markets, manages calendars, summarizes group chats, and executes predefined tasks—all confirmed through simple text replies.
Key Features
-
Proactive notifications: Macy monitors connected apps around the clock and texts you about flight changes, price alerts, important emails, or calendar conflicts without being asked. Background jobs run 24/7.
-
iMessage-native interface: No app installation is required. After connecting services via the web dashboard, all interactions happen through standard iMessage conversations. Users text Macy and receive texts back.
-
Confirmation gate for actions: Sensitive operations—such as executing a trade via Robinhood or sending a reply on WhatsApp—require an explicit 'yes' before execution. Macy proposes the action and waits for approval.
-
Cross-app workflows: A single confirmation can trigger a chain of actions across multiple services. For example, Macy can catch an email, save an attachment to Drive, and draft a reply in WhatsApp—all from one 'yes'.
-
Document and memory management: Users can ask Macy to save files, notes, or important documents to a private drive, then retrieve them later with a text. She remembers preferences and past instructions.
-
Standing orders: Instead of one-off commands, users can set persistent rules (e.g., 'alert me when NVDA drops below $120'). Macy watches continuously and proposes actions when conditions are met.
-
Content generation: Macy can generate stickers, images, or short videos directly in the chat, and supports language learning by quizzing users daily and correcting voice notes.
-
500+ app integrations: Through the web dashboard, users link accounts for Gmail, Google Calendar, Drive, Slack, WhatsApp, Robinhood, Snapchat, Spotify, Instagram, Coinbase, PayPal, Uber, Airbnb, GitHub, and many more.

- Group chat managers who want a concise summary of WhatsApp or iMessage group conversations, along with decision flags and the ability to reply through Macy without reading hundreds of messages.
- Casual investors who want to set standing price alerts and receive trade proposals via Robinhood's agent API, requiring only a 'yes' to execute.
- Language learners who benefit from daily quizzes, audio prompts, and correction of voice notes—all delivered through iMessage without needing a separate learning app.
- Anyone tired of app overload who prefers a single text thread to manage scheduling, document retrieval, task automation, and proactive reminders.
